Higher Education Management, still described as an ‘unknown entity’ in 2010, is now established in its role in everyday university life and is indispensable as a carrier of organizational knowledge. Nevertheless, the question of the degree of professionalization and the attractiveness of personnel development remains unanswered. The article examines the professionalization of Higher Education Managers in Switzerland and identifies fields of action for strengthening this occupational group.
