Transdisciplinary pathways to ESD at universities of teacher education: Approaches at the UTE Lucerne

Universities of teacher education should enable future generations of teachers to integrate sustainable development and lifeworld-relevant education in sustainable development (ESD) into their professional practice. In this context, the present project, „Sustainable Development at the UTE Lucerne“, seeks to develop educational and pedagogical foundations for ESD in research and teaching in transdisciplinary experience spaces, among other goals. To this end, training and continuing education programmes are created in all subjects. This paper describes the project and uses examples to show how the institution plans to achieve the established goals.
