National standards and interfaces for the transmission of research information

RIS Synergy creates open access and possibilities for exchange between the systems of funding agencies, research institutions and public administration. The aim is to simplify cooperation and to create consistent and smooth workflows for all parties involved. This is done by way of data acquisition based on the “once-only principle”, as well as the standards-based exchange of information on funding programs and organizational structures, data from electronic submission and administration systems, and data management plans and metadata from research outputs. To date, the project has already accomplished the setup and successful application of interfaces in the areas of financial data and programme information. This paper provides insight into the successful implementation within the framework of the RIS Synergy project.
