How do students from different disciplines learn to work together to achieve sustainable development? This paper describes a scalable process methodology supported by the philosophy of science. Since the methodology can be adapted to teaching/learning units between 180 minutes and 5 ECTS credits or beyond, it can be used flexibly within Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) curricula. This result was made possible by a cross-role and cross-university teaching development setting, the principles and processes of which are presented and reflected upon. The authors thus show how new teaching development methods can help to address the complex problems of sustainable development.
