Sustainability principles are becoming increasingly relevant. In light of this development, the UN has developed seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). University education plays a key role in achieving the SDGs by equipping graduates with the skills they need to tackle large, complex sustainability issues. This paper describes three areas of university education that can be used to promote sustainability competencies among students. Monitoring and reporting at universities are then analyzed, and different frameworks for monitoring and reporting are compared.
