Based on studies on case-based and experiential learning in university leadership teaching, this paper investigates the extent to which bachelor students can learn leadership theories in a case-based way, as well as how students evaluate this teaching approach. For this purpose, we present a case- and experience-based bachelor course at the University of St.Gallen, while presenting its learning objectives, teaching and assessment methods. Qualitative and quantitative student course evaluations from six semesters indicate that students rated this approach positively. In particular, they appreciated the teaching methods used, while making differentiated suggestions for improvement. The paper discusses the leading questions, including the teachers’ own experiences.
