Dealing with antisemitism in courses at universities of teacher education
Main Article Content
Discrimination, such as antisemitism or racism, is a social issue that universities should respond to more actively. This paper examines how lecturers handle these sensitive topics in their courses. Using a questionnaire survey (n = 24 lecturers) and individual interviews (n = 10), this study investigates characteristics of the lecturers and student teachers, as well as aspects of the courses’ teaching design. The results are discussed with regard to the further development of universities, and the paper concludes with four theses for curriculum development.
