Editorial: Digitalisierung in der Administration österreichischer Hochschulen (2020–2024)

In 2020, the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) awarded a total of 50 million euros in funding for 34 projects selected in a review process as part of the Austria-wide call for proposals "Projects for digital and social transformation in higher education". Funding was awarded to forward-looking cooperation projects that aim to have a structural impact on the university system during their term until 2024. With three special issues, the journal ZFHE offers the projects the opportunity to present their results and experiences to a broad audience in an OPEN Access publication format. The special issues focus on the areas of teaching, research and administration.

In this issue, the focus is on projects in an administrative context that cover all fields of activity - teaching, research, administration and 3rd missions. We also focus on research into cross-university and interdisciplinary AI-based systems.
