The future presents universities and their education programmes with new challenges. Based on the theoretical framework of EHLERS (2020), which outlines the future design of education in the context of “future skills”, a prototype of a new curriculum is described here. In essence, it can be applied to all educational contexts. The prototype was developed in a design thinking process, performed by students, scholars and experts from the field and tested over the past four years. In autumn of 2023, the pilot phase ends, and the prototype is integrated into the regular curriculum. An evaluation of the innovative curricula shows their success, as well as the need for further development.
