This development paper calls for the development of an evidence-based methodology for campus-community partnerships (CCPs) due to the increasing complexity of transfer projects bringing together different stakeholders. To begin with, the paper describes how the debate on transfer and innovation has changed over the past years and which central transfer and innovation models are currently being discussed. Following this, CCPs are described as vehicles for transfer and innovation and some of the associated methods are presented. Individual and structural challenges that arise in CCPs are identified and exemplified. Based on this, first research desiderata are formulated.
