Student learning and the ambivalence of digital distraction
Main Article Content
The historically new situation of the digital connectedness between subject and world poses new challenges for students today. Digital distraction represents a central problem in this context. Drawing on student experience reports, this paper examines distraction in the context of the digitalisation of learning. In doing so, the paper expands the concept of distraction and describes reasoning traps in inquiry-based learning in digital learning-teaching relations. Furthermore, we highlight the relevance of developing an academic culture which systematically addresses not only the significance of digital technologies in learning, but also how to deal with them.
